Salford Pilgrimage

Participating in Early American Christian Worship

Some say that Americans are forgetting their Christian Heritage.

Come participate in their Worship Experience on the First Sunday evening of June at 6:00 pm.

Singing with Voices of the Past

Would it not be nice to hear the voices of the past periodically? You will as we open up in a hymn sing at the Salford Meeting House at this pilgrimage. The singing is a capella, but the acoustics are super. The echoes of voices from the past will emerge as we sing great hymns of the past such as “Great is Thy Faithfulness,” “How Great Thou Art,” and “Now Thank We All Our God.” The last hymn is sung in German and English

The Worship Service then continues with Scripture Reading, Prayer, and special music provided by one of the Schwenkfelder churches.

We then listen to a 20 minute contemporary message from one of the Schwenkfelder Ministers. That message is in the spirit of the Schwenkfelders who settled in the area years ago.

Following the Worship Service, those gathered then go to the cemetery by the Meeting House to listen to a short historical message about early colonial Christianity.

Then, it is time to go to the nearby pavilion to enjoy ice cream with those who have gathered.

The gathering ends around sunset at 8:30 as there is no electricity!

The Salford Schwenkfelder Meeting House is found on Fretz Road.

The address is: 65 Fretz Rd, Souderton, PA 18964
