Studying the Schwenkfelder Way

What is the School of Christ?

Our topic this year will be on Caspar Schwenckfeld and the Movement of Pietism

Rev. Nick Pence (Palm Schwenkfelder) and Rev. Dr. Drake Williams (Central Schwenkfelder) will be presenting

Our denomination gathers each February to discuss a topic that is related to Caspar Schwenkfeld and the Schwenkfelder perspective. All Schwenkfelder churches are encouraged to attend. Those from outside of the denomination can also attend, too.

This year our meeting is on February 7, 2026. We will meet in person and via Zoom. (See below for further details)

In his exploration of the Christian faith, Caspar Schwenckfeld said that we are always growing in the School of Christ. In other words, Christians are always continuing growing.

Dr. Jack Rothenberger (Central Schwenkfelder) initiated this idea in the 1970’s, and it has continued since then.

Podcasts related to Previous School of Christ.

In previous years, we have addressed the subjects of prayer and the understanding of the first Schwenkfelder pastor in America.

Our previous School of Christs have considered topics on prayer and the George Weiss catechism.

This podcast explores the culture of prayer found in Schwenckfeld’s writing and in that of early Schwenkfelders.
